Sujal Foods, the biggest confectionery manufacturing and marketing company in Nepal, is the flagship subsidiary company of Laxmi Group. Having its fold over 5 leading brands in different product categories, the company holds more than 50% market share from its entire portfolio. Sujal Foods has a humble mission to make premium confectioneries. It centers itself in Cocoa-based confectioneries, Wafers, Gums, Toffees, Lollipops and Candies.

Sujal Foods is a major contributor to the group’s revenue and firmly believes in crafting the most admired brands like Chocofun, Rasilo, Fresho, Smart Lollypop and Bubbly. Its flagship brand “Chocofun” has been a metaphor for chocolate for the last 22 years and its iconic image has been affluent.

Due to the popularity and admiration of its confects throughout the country, it has transcended its market domain to an international level by exporting to its neighboring countries India and China since 2006 and it has also started exporting to countries in North America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Gulf countries. The company firmly believes in developing products and markets according to the market environment of both local and international markets.

Our History

    Two brothers from Pokhara, Nepal - Buddhi Bahadur Shrestha and Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha started ‘Laxmi Mithai Bhandar’ in 6th December, 1973. The initial production were the popular Nepali candies like Laxmi Sweets, Banaras Sweets and Tamatar Ball.

    In 1976, Jaima Laxmi Confectionery was incorporated in Pokhara Industrial Area with advanced machinery. With its inception, iconic Nepali candies like Orange Ball and Rimjhim Ball were produced.

    With the inception of Subha Laxmi Confectionery, we took the Nepali confectionery market by storm. The popularity of candies like LactoFun, Mango Tart and YoYo Sweets skyrocketed.

    Sujal Foods was incorporated in 1996 with the merger of Subha Laxmi Confectionery, Jaima Laxmi Confectionery and Laxmi Mithai Bhandar.

    The most iconic confectionery brand of Nepal, Chocofun was introduced in 1999. Since then Chocofun has evolved to become the most selling confectionery brand in Nepal.

    Sujalgum, the first stick chewing gum of the country, was launched in 2006. It was launched with Spearmint, Banana and Lemon flavors. Later in 2008 two new refreshing flavors: Orange and Strawberry were introduced.

    Fresho candy was introduced in 2011. With its refreshing mentha-lyptus flavor, it has become the most popular mouth freshener candy among consumers.

    In 2017, Sujal Foods bags the prestigious Gold and Silver DLG Award for its iconic brands Crave and Chocofun respectively. DLG Award is an annual award provided by Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

    Chocofun Rolls was launched in 2019. It is the country’s first baked wafer rolls that are baked to crisp outside and creamy at the core. It is filled with rich and delicious cream. Chocofun Rolls are available in Strawberry, Vanilla, Coconut & Chocolate cream flavors.

    Freshdent is a candy-coated chewing gum with a strong flavor of mint launched in 2022.
